Pumpkin Pie Crochet: the coziest crochet pie of autumn 2025
DIY Decorations Autumn 2025: Pumpkin Pie Crochet in English style
A cake? No, a crochet cuddle for your home
There are objects that need no introduction: just one look is enough to evoke scents, atmospheres, and seasons. In autumn 2025, the undisputed symbol of comfort is here: the pumpkin. Not only soups and pumpkin spice lattes, but also creative, cozy, and strictly handmade decorations.
And among the most clicked crochet trends of this season, there is a new entry that smells of novelty and sweetness: the Pumpkin Pie Crochet, the cake-shaped pumpkin decoration that comes directly from England and wins the heart (and the sofas) of those who love to give their home an autumnal touch with creativity.
Pumpkin Cake Crochet: the coziest handmade project of autumn
I decided to give it my own name: Pumpkin Cake with Meringue. A creation that combines English style, comfort, and yarns as warm as a hug.
Perfect as:
- Decorative cushion for the living room
- Detail for a country-chic kitchen
- Focal point for the entrance or porch
- Original gift idea for creatives and enthusiasts
Materials used:
To make this crochet decoration you just need:
- 1 ball of Avril orange
- 1 ball of Avril hazelnut
- 1 ball of Avril white
- 1 bag of stuffing for amigurumi
- 1 crochet hook n. 4.5–5
- 1 wool needle
- scissors
- CHENILLE CHENILLE CHENILLE
- STUFFING CROCHET HOOK NEEDLE
Step-by-step instructions.

Cake base (yarn hazelnut)
Start with a magic ring and work 6 double crochets inside.
Round 2: 1 increase in each stitch (12).
Round 3: 1 double crochet + 1 increase.
Round 4: 2 double crochets + 1 increase.
Round 5: 3 double crochets + 1 increase…
and so on, continuing the increases until the base reaches the desired width.
I worked for 8 rounds.
At this point, work 1 double crochet in each stitch, without increases, until you get a slightly curved shape, similar to a baking pan.
Cut the yarn leaving a tail.
Pumpkin part (yarn orange)
Start with a magic ring and work 10 double crochets.
Round 2: 1 increase in each stitch (20).
Continue with the increasing rounds:
Round 3: 1 double crochet + 1 increase
Round 4: 2 double crochets + 1 increase
Round 5: 3 double crochets + 1 increase…
Continue until you reach the same width as the hazelnut base.
The meringue (yarn white)
Chain 20.
Work 1 double crochet in each chain.
On the next row, work 1 bubble stitch in each double crochet:
and the fluffy meringue is ready to be placed on the cake.

Assembly.
Fill the hazelnut base with stuffing, creating a small central mound (as if the cake had risen).
Sew together, with single crochets all around the circumference, the orange part to the hazelnut base.
Count the stitches of the circumference and divide them by 5: this way you will calculate the rounded edges. I got 20.
Rounded edge (hazelnut yarn):
- 1 single crochet
- 1 half double crochet
- 1 double crochet in the same stitch: 1 double crochet + 1 chain + 1 double crochet
- 1 half double crochet
- 1 single crochet
Repeat the pattern all around the edge.
With needle and yarn, sew the meringue to the center of the cake.
Final result
And here is your Pumpkin Cake Crochet ready: soft, delicious, and 100% handmade.
A project that combines decoration and creativity and will bring into your home a touch of autumn atmosphere in English style.
There are creations that start as a game and end up becoming real symbols of a season. Pumpkin pie crochet is one of them: because you don’t need to be in the kitchen to bake sweetness, all you need is a crochet hook, the right yarns, and the desire to be surprised.
Each stitch is an invitation to pause, to savor autumn slowly, to bring into your home that cozy elegance that makes us fall in love with cooler days. And in the end, between one ball of yarn and another, you discover that even the simplest project can turn into a story: the story of your creativity, with the scent of pumpkin, cinnamon, and a season that teaches us that beauty lies in the details.
