1. Grommet or crochet-over ring?
- Grommet: creates a reinforced hole in the fabric — thread strap, chain or cord through it
- Crochet-over ring: creates a decorative handle or base — cover with single crochet stitches
2. Plastic or wood?
- Plastic (Prym): lightweight, multiple diameters. Covers completely — the plastic disappears
- Natural wood (beech): warmer to the touch. Crochet over it or leave bare for a boho look

What's the difference between these rings and strap rings?
The rings on this page (plastic and wood) are crocheted over — they become decorative handles. Strap rings (metal: ovals, D-rings) connect the strap to the bag — they're structural hardware.
How do you apply grommets?
Make a small hole in the fabric, insert the grommet from the front, place the washer at the back and fix with the grommet tool included — a firm press is all it takes. For screw-type grommets, screw the back piece on by hand.
What yarn works for crocheting over rings?
