Bridge Connectors for Crochet Bags
Quick overview: Bridge connectors are metal attachments that fix to the bag body and create an anchor point for straps and carabiner hooks. They have a plate (rectangular, oval, triangular) that fixes with foldable wings or screws, and an arch where the carabiner clips on. Finishes: silver, gold, gunmetal. Sold in pairs.
A bridge connector is the component that physically links the strap or handle to the bag. Without one the carabiner has nowhere to clip. It consists of a plate (the flat part that fixes to the bag) and an arch (the curved part where the carabiner hooks on).
Used on crochet bags, faux leather bags and handmade backpacks. Tessiland bridge connectors are metal with finishes that coordinate with strap rings and carabiners.

CHOOSING GUIDE: bridge connectors
Two questions to pick the right connector.
1. What plate shape?
- Simple arch: the most discreet — only the arch shows
- Rectangular plate: visible and decorative — professional look
- Triangle plate: modern geometric design
- Oval plate: soft lines, also available with screws
2. Wings or screws?
- Wings: quick fix — push in and fold. For crochet bags
- Screws: stronger fix. For faux leather and heavy straps
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a bridge connector and a strap ring?
A bridge connector fixes DIRECTLY to the bag fabric (wings or screws) and has an arch where the carabiner clips. A strap ring is a free ring fixed with a faux leather tab. Bridge = direct attachment; ring = intermediate loop.
How many bridge connectors for a bag?
For a bag with a strap you need 2 connectors (one per side). Tessiland bridge connectors are sold in pairs.
