GUIDE: which storage to choose?
You work with interchangeable circular needles
- Kyoto or Merino case: roll-up pouch with separate slots for tips and pockets for cables. Ideal if you have an interchangeable set — everything organized, rolls up and goes anywhere.
You work mainly with crochet hooks
- Crochet hook organizer: flat fabric pouch with a pocket for each size. Light, compact, fits any bag. Perfect for those who own many hooks and want to find them instantly.
- Wooden holder with drawer: if you work at home and prefer a desk organizer — keeps needles upright, the drawer collects accessories.
You need a travel solution for the whole kit
- Prym cases are the best choice: compact, secure closure, resistant to luggage bumps. They carry needles, cables and accessories without risk of loss.
Frequently asked questions about knitting bags and storage
What is the difference between the Kyoto and the Merino case?
Both are roll-up cases for interchangeable circular needles with the same interior organisation. The difference is aesthetic: the Kyoto has a Japanese-style pattern on dark fabric, the Merino has a more natural, neutral design. Same capacity and build quality for both.
Does the circular needle case work with needles from other brands?
Yes. The Prym Kyoto and Merino cases are designed for interchangeable circular needles in general — not just Prym needles. Tips from Knit Pro, Addi, ChiaoGoo and other interchangeable brands fit without issue. Cables of different lengths roll up in the side pockets.
Can I store both needles and crochet hooks together?
The wooden holder with drawer is designed exactly for this: the vertical slots accommodate both straight needles and crochet hooks of various lengths, while the drawer collects accessories. For those who practise both techniques and want everything at hand on the desk, it is the most practical solution.
Do you have project bags that also carry the yarn?
For yarn you'll find the craft accessories: the rotating wooden yarn bowl and the travel yarn holder. You can combine them with the needle case to have the full kit organised in separate pieces.
