✨ TESSILAND STUDIOFrequently Asked Questions about Jewelry Charms
What are charms and how do you use them?
Charms are small decorative pendants with a jump ring at the top that lets you attach them to bracelets, necklaces and earrings. Mount them by opening the jump ring sideways with pliers, threading it onto the wire or chain and closing it again. They're completely interchangeable: you can move, add or remove charms from the same base in seconds.
Are Tessiland charms compatible with Pandora bracelets?
Tessiland charms have a standard jump ring and fit any bracelet with a chain or wire that can hold pendant attachments. They're not threaded like original Pandora charms — which require a specific inner bar — but work perfectly on standard chains, waxed cord, Lumina, Shamballa bracelets and light necklaces.
How many charms should I put on a bracelet?
There's no fixed rule, but as a guide: for an 18–20 cm bracelet (average wrist) with charms only, 5–8 pieces give a full result without overcrowding. If you alternate charms and beads, 3–5 charms between groups of 2–3 beads create a balanced visual rhythm. For Shamballa knot bracelets, 1–3 charms placed at the centre are enough for a precise boho effect.
Which wire do I use for charms?
Any wire strong enough to hold the weight of the pendant. The most common choices: waxed cord for Shamballa bracelets, Lumina 6 or 9 for shiny metallic bracelets, beading thread for mixed charm+bead necklaces, Tessilcopper for wirework compositions where the charm is the centrepiece. Avoid elastic thread if the charm is heavy — it tends to slide.
How do I store charms to stop them tarnishing?
Silver charms tarnish when exposed to damp air and chemicals (perfume, moisturiser, pool chlorine). Store them in a small closed box or an anti-tarnish pouch. If they darken, a soft slightly damp cloth or a silver polishing cloth is all you need — they clean up in seconds. Coloured resin pendants are more tarnish-resistant but should be kept away from prolonged direct UV exposure to keep colours vivid.
