Mini Crochet Bag Inspired by Miu Miu: A Quick and Easy Project.
I am increasingly fascinated by the beauty of crochet bags that can be seen while scrolling through social media feeds or those worn by people walking after a day of work with the sun starting to get warmer and warmer.
After entering this world, I have understood a few things about crochet. I don't like very long projects, maybe just because I don't have much patience or skill. These are still my first projects, and maybe that's fine. Another thing I have understood is that no matter the size, a crochet bag will always be the trend that everyone must have in their wardrobe. It's also wonderful to see this trend spreading on social media, for example, Instagram and TikTok have a lot to offer in terms of ideas and content.
But let's get back to us. Today, I thought of proposing an easy and quick crochet bag that could solve a big problem common to us crocheters, which?
The accumulation of yarn that builds up at home after projects is really a big problem for us. For this project, I used a lot of it, having fun with combinations and stitches.
Starting with the fact that my family is an all-female explosion, I often find myself talking about fashion and trends with my sisters, and just a few days ago, the youngest one said to me: WOULD YOU TRY TO MAKE THIS? So, here it is, my multicolor clutch version, inspired by the summer collection of MIU MIU.
How to make a multicolor crochet clutch.
Materials needed:
Many, many leftover balls of yarn in all colors. I mainly used cotton yarns like tencel, ecodonny, drake.
But also thicker yarns like bravissimo 50g
I worked everything with a 3.5 mm crochet hook
Then I applied 1 simple handle and a pair of triangle rings.
Base construction:
The work starts from the base. I made a bottom starting with 38 chains and then went back skipping the first one with a single crochet.
I alternated this technique, when I combined, for example, 2 colors of drake, I worked in single crochet, when I worked a thinner thread, i.e., a single thread of iggy, I used a double crochet.
I made a bottom 8 cm high and about 21 cm long.
Bag body construction:
I worked in back loops for one round and then continued normally upwards, alternating colors and threads, even on the same row. From the nineteenth row onwards, I made a decrease in all four corners, securing the stitches with stitch markers to understand where to decrease each round.
Once the round was finished, I sewed a black faux leather zipper inside the creation, attached the two rings on the sides, and then applied the handle equipped with silver-colored carabiners. Now I'm off to wrap it as a gift and take it to my sister, what do you think, will she appreciate it?
Have a good weekend.
