25 years of Gilmore Girls: a week in Stars Hollow (crochet edition)
Welcome to Stars Hollow, crochet edition.
Some learned to love coffee from Lorelai Gilmore, others dreamed of a room at Yale like Rory, and some — like us — would have loved a place in Stars Hollow to sit with a crochet hook in hand and the scent of apple pie in the air.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Gilmore Girls, we decided to transform our world of yarns and colors into a little journey through the most beloved series of all time.
We’re in the middle of a special week, entirely dedicated to its heroines, its flavors, its oversized sweaters, and above all to that creativity that feels like home, full of chats and small happy rituals.
Welcome to Stars Hollow by Tessiland: a place where time flows slowly, the coffee is always hot, and every crochet stitch tells a story.
Day 1 – “A ball of nostalgia: welcome back to Stars Hollow!”
.jpg)
Imagine stepping off a bus, holding your bag with your crochet inside, and smelling coffee in the air. That’s how our week began: with crochet hats in shades of beige, brick red, powder blue, and sage green, inspired by the coziest square on TV.
Project of the day: Stars Hollow Hat – a simple and warm hat, perfect for plaid blanket days and hot chocolate moments.
Add a wooden button or a cup-shaped pin to pay tribute to Luke’s Diner.
Keyword: handmade nostalgia.
Because coffee, like crochet, tastes better when shared. For an easy and quick pattern, CLICK HERE.
YARN: tina asphalt black, elvis pearl and black.
Day 2 – Lorelai & Rory: queens of cozy chic
.jpg)
Two cups of coffee, a thousand conversations, and at least three sweater changes.
Lorelai and Rory made the comfort-preppy style iconic, with long cardigans, enveloping scarves, and sparkling irony.
Crochet projects of the day:
- Scarf “Coffee & Books” – for romantic and curious souls.
- Cardigan “Lorelai Style” – for those who love fireplace evenings and yarns as soft as a hug.
YARN: patty black, white, sky blue, pink, orange, edith white.
Day 3 – Luke’s Diner: crochet & coffee
.jpg)
No frills, just coffee and everyday magic.
Luke’s Diner is the beating heart of Stars Hollow, and today we celebrate it with details that feel like home: a crochet mug cozy in honey and navy tones and a Coffee Break coaster set to use while flipping through your favorite crochet project.
And to complete the atmosphere, on our social accounts you’ll also find Luke’s handmade mini pancake recipe, to serve with a coordinated crochet placemat.
YARN: Bravissimo terracotta, brown, hazelnut.
Day 4 – Sookie: sweet as a ball of sugar
.jpg)
If Sookie’s kitchen were a knitting workshop, it would smell like butter and freshly opened yarn.
Today, creativity gets sugary with amigurumi cupcakes and pastel pot holders that seem to come straight out of her enchanted oven. Handmade, made with love — just like a perfectly baked cake.
YARN: iggy white, orchid, pistachio.
Day 5 – Rory at Yale: the elegance of thought
.jpg)
Among books, cups of tea, and yarn balls, Rory inspires us to find beauty even in studying.
Her “college chic” style lives again in three handmade creations in navy and burgundy tones:
Yale Bag, Book Cover and Preppy Mood Vest.
Because even crochet can be a form of gentle intelligence.
YARN: Bravissimo50 terracotta, military green, hazelnut, wisteria, burgundy.
Day 6 – Emily & Richard: elegance in every stitch
.jpg)
If Emily Gilmore crocheted, she’d do it with the finest yarn and a pearl bracelet on her wrist.
Today we celebrate the most refined side of handmade with the Gilmore Manor blanket in cashmere and Tea Time Vintage gloves in pearl gray. A tribute to slowness, care, and the joy of creating with grace. Because true luxury is the time you dedicate to yourself.
YARN: gray cashmere, white chuck, emerald, plum, yellow.
Day 7 – Lane & Paris: rebellious and perfect (in their own way)
.jpg)
Some crochet while listening to the Foo Fighters, others keep a diary of the stitches they’ve made.
Two opposite souls, two ways of being creative.
- Lane’s Punk Bag for those who love colorful chaos.
- Paris Minimal Chic for those who find peace in precision.
After all, we’re all a little Lane and a little Paris: different, authentic, and united by the same passion — creating with our hands and our hearts.
YARN: FREDDY black cord, thai SUBLIME cord.
