The 5-point pattern explained round by round, mini stars for the tree and gift wrap, a stiff tree topper, the 5-petal...
Crochet lovers, lovers of beautiful and special things, the most eagerly awaited moment for loyal Tessiland, I’m talking about the opening of Lido Tessiland.
It is an idea born last year to keep company with all those people who, for one reason or another, won’t be heading to any seaside destination, with no holidays planned. So we bring them a fresher, more sparkling breeze, just like the sea breeze that makes us close our eyes and savour the moment. Just a few days ago, I carved out a little time by the sea so I could truly observe what a person feels while sitting there, just a few steps from the waves.
Closing your eyes in front of the sea is like letting the world lower its voice. Your breathing follows the rhythm of the waves, thoughts slowly dissolve like salt on the skin, and everything that feels heavy seems to stay behind on the shore. There is the wind brushing your face, the scent of summer filling your lungs, the sun caressing you without asking for anything. In that moment, there is no need to go far: you just need to stay there, still, with your eyes closed, to feel lighter.
I turned my computer back on and decided to get to work starting precisely from Lido Tessiland, which this year feels to me like more than just a lido: I see it as one of those Beach Clubs from major brands that offer hospitality, aesthetic vibes and lifestyle inspiration.
The creative space of the Tessiland Beach Club
This year I imagined something more itinerant. A few regular features simply cannot be missing: last year, the MUSCLE AWAKENING and the APERITIF GAME, were much loved. This year I also thought of including spaces where we can show you something in more detail, such as the Lifeguard Gazebo. Yes, because for years my family and I always went to the same lido, fully equipped with everything, and I let myself be inspired by it. Under the Lifeguard’s umbrella, the courses in SUP, Canoeing, Swimming would begin, and so I imagined bringing our knowledge under the umbrella too: we will teach those who don’t know us yet, or show those who are already experienced, crochet techniques. Another idea, inspired by our latest news on YOUTUBE with our creative TUTORIALS designed and created by the Tessiland Crew is the Handmade Boutique, so that our beach guests can choose which project to make. Then there is the Event Terrace, a place to enjoy at sunset or on a moonlit evening. I am also thinking about a few special guests to surprise you a little. Ah, I was almost forgetting one of everyone’s favourite places: the Yarn Ball BAR, the place where we will host our Aperitif Game, the most loved activity among those who joined us at Lido Tessiland last year.

The programme includes around 4 daily appointments, one to say welcome to the new day all together. It may be the classic muscle awakening to do under the umbrella, or something connected to crochet and the mind. Then there is what every lido offers its guests to create community and have fun together: the Aperitif Game, in the afternoon there will be alternating moments of Breaks, Lessons, moments dedicated to Planning or choosing Colours and the evening remains a time for goodbyes or motivational phrases. Don’t worry: I completely understand that some people are busy with work, errands and personal commitments. You don’t have to spend the whole day with your phone in your hand. You will find the posts or reels on our social channels, and even after an exhausting day you will be able to breathe in a little creativity with our Virtual Lido.
What's In My Bag?

Besides being a trend that never leaves social media, ''WHAT'S IN MY BAG'' is a source of inspiration for so many fashion and creativity lovers like us. So, what should we put in our bag to take to the Lido?
A creative maker’s beach bag does not only contain a towel, sunscreen and sunglasses: it holds ideas, colours, lightweight yarns and small projects to start between a swim and a coffee at the lido.
What should a creative maker put in her beach bag?
- An emergency crochet hook, because inspiration always arrives when you least expect it.
- amour_clover_crochet_hooks
- Small scissors with protected tips. Wool needle or finishing needle. Stitch markers, possibly in a mini pouch. Tape measure, because I’ll eyeball it only works up to a certain point.
- scissors needles markers tape_measure
- A project pouch, to protect your work from sand and sunscreen.
- A notebook or your phone notes to jot down ideas, colours and combinations spotted on the beach.
- bag creative_diary myhandmade
- Sunglasses, sunscreen and a water bottle, because yes, we are creative, but also organised.
- A book, magazine or tutorial saved to watch offline.
- A little pouch to keep shells, ribbons and inspirations gathered here and there.
Creativity shortens distances.
Speaking on the phone every day with so many customers, we have realised how often, behind a simple request for information, behind an order, behind the choice of a yarn or a colour, there is much more. There are slow days, moments of loneliness, the desire to feel listened to, welcomed, part of something. Summer, after all, is exactly this: a time that slows down. The days grow longer, rhythms change, many activities pause and, for some people, this silence can become heavier. So we asked ourselves: ''who are we not to try to turn this moment into an opportunity for closeness?''
Over the years we have read many stories, listened to many voices and met people who, thanks to the creative world, have found new friendships, new happy habits, new spaces where they feel understood. We have seen special relationships grow between creative makers who may never have met in person, but who share the same passion, the same enthusiasm and the same desire to create something with their own hands.
And this is exactly what moves us the most: knowing that Tessiland is not just a place where you buy a product. Or at least, we would never want it to be only that. For us, beyond an “order confirmed”, there are people, emotions, projects, expectations, stories and bonds.
This is why Lido Tessiland was created: to keep company with those who cannot always follow us live, with those who perhaps watch from afar, with those who need a small daily appointment to feel part of a shared summer. A virtual place, yes, but with a real soul. I remind you that the Opening of Lido Tessiland runs from 6 to 19 July 2026.
I have only a few days left to perfect the programme created for you. See you Monday 6 July 2026, we will keep each other company until 19 July and we hope to experience emotions and build creative memories together. We are ready to amaze you again this year; you get your beach bag ready with everything you need. A new adventure is about to begin.
Follow us on our social channels so you don’t miss the daily appointments of Lido Tessiland.
