The trends of Pitti Filati for autumn/winter 2024/25: A hymn to protection and nature.

Florence, 06/26/2024. We arrived loaded and enthusiastic in the wonderful Florentine capital to attend the 95th edition of PITTI FILATI, here at the Fortezza da Basso, where trends related to the yarns to prefer for Autumn/Winter 2024/25 are displayed in every corner.

Autumn 2024 is approaching (unfortunately) and with it, a significant change in fashion trends that reflect the uncertain times we live in. At Tessiland, we attended Pitti Filati, one of the most important events in the sector, and from there we enriched our knowledge about the trends in styles and fibers for the coming months.

It is precisely within the walls of Pitti Filati that themes deeply rooted in the concepts of protection, refuge, stability, security, and well-being emerge. These key words define the new collections, responding to a collective need for shelter and introspection.

Protection in a World of Uncertainties

In an era characterized by economic instability, international conflicts, and adverse climatic conditions, the concept of protection becomes central. The trend SHIELD, which literally means "shield", embodies this desire for security. Shielding oneself is not just a planned gesture but also an instinctive reaction to unforeseen threats. The winter season, with its introspective nature, invites us to find refuge and generate new ideas within our personal "shell", away from the external chaos. This is not a closure, but rather a reflection towards a more intimate and personal beauty.

Nature as Refuge and Inspiration

Nature emerges as the main source of inspiration. It is seen as a refuge and source of beauty, deeply influencing art and consequently, fashion. The upcoming collections will be characterized by an apparent simplicity, enriched with technical specifics that will highlight the central role of humans in creating and preserving beauty. Four Themes for Four Auspicious Symbols

The trends for autumn 2024 are divided into four main themes, each inspired by a different symbol of refuge and protection:

EGGCENTRIC:

This theme is inspired by the egg, a symbol of rebirth and renewal. The egg represents harmony and perfection, enclosing the chaos of life within a shell that is both fragile and rigid.

SHELLTER:

Inspired by the shell, this theme evokes beauty and protection. The shell is a symbol of prosperity, rebirth, abundance, and protection from evil, recalling the idea of the maternal womb and the birth of humanity.

BUGNIFICENT:

This theme is inspired by beetles, symbols of transformation and regeneration. With over 350,000 species, beetles represent diversity and the ability to adapt and regenerate.

WOODNESS:

Inspired by the tree, this theme evokes shelter and well-being. The tree is a symbol of life itself, representing strength, adaptation, and continuous rebirth fueled by the earth.

Towards a More Intimate and Personal Beauty

The autumn collections will reflect a fashion that, while appearing simple, hides technical complexity and high artisanal value.

Nature and art, in synergy, will define the atmospheres of the upcoming collections, emphasizing the role of humans as creators and custodians of beauty.
