Crochet Bag Closures — All Types and Styles by Tessiland
Crochet bag closures — 5 families, over 80 models. Every closure tested and selected by our style team: weight, finish, magnetic strength, coordination with bag bases and eco-leather. Direct from manufacturer to customer, no middlemen, piece-by-piece quality control in Italy.
Which closure to choose for your bag
Not all crochet bag closures are the same: they change the look, practicality and hold depending on the bag you are making. Tessiland offers five families of closures, each with a specific purpose.
How to choose the right closure
The main criterion is not aesthetics but compatibility with your project:
- Structured bag with lining → magnetic snap with prongs: fixes in seconds, invisible from outside, long-lasting.
- Unstructured or soft bag → frame clasp or turn lock: holds without stiffening the crochet work.
- Coordinated eco-leather bag → eco-leather press-stud closures: available in the same shades as Tessiland handles and bases.
- Clutch or small bag → press button: compact, minimal, available in sew-on or clip-on version.
- Vintage or Chanel-style look → square or oval turn lock in silver/gold: the effect is immediate.

What is the difference between a simple magnetic closure and a magnetic snap with prongs?
A simple magnet is glued or sewn onto the surface. A magnetic snap with prongs has two metal tabs that fold into the lining or crochet work: it is sturdier, does not detach with use, and requires no sewing on fabric. For bags intended for daily use, the snap with prongs is always the most durable choice.
Do Tessiland closures attach without sewing?
It depends on the type. Magnetic snaps with prongs attach by folding the prongs into the work — no sewing required. Turn locks and press buttons fix mechanically. Eco-leather press-stud closures need to be sewn or glued to the edge. Each product page includes specific assembly instructions.
How many types of bag closures are available in this section?
Five families: frame clasps, magnetic snaps (snaps with prongs in various shapes), eco-leather press studs, turn locks and press buttons. Over 80 models in total across shapes, colours and metal finishes. Click on the family you are interested in to filter directly by type.
Do the eco-leather closures match the Tessiland handles and bag bases?
Yes, this is a specific Tessiland feature: eco-leather press-stud closures are available in the same colours as our eco-leather handles and bag bases. Every detail of the bag coordinates perfectly. You will find the colour references on each type's product page.
Do you sell bag closures wholesale?
Tessiland sells directly from manufacturer without intermediaries: our retail prices are already equivalent to wholesale. There are no minimum order quantities — you can buy even a single piece. For large quantity orders, contact us directly to discuss dedicated pricing.
