How do you attach magnetic snaps with prongs?
Place the snap at the desired point, then fold the prongs inward through the lining or crochet work. No sewing required: the folded prongs hold the closure firmly in the fabric. The whole process takes under a minute.
What is the difference between the basic 18mm and the powerful 4-ring snap?
The basic 18mm has two prongs and standard magnetic strength — enough for most bags. The powerful 4-ring has four fixing points and a stronger magnet: ideal for large bags, backpacks, or any project that opens and closes frequently.
Do magnetic snaps damage crochet yarn?
No, when applied correctly onto a lining or inner fabric. Never fix them directly onto crochet work without a backing: the yarn alone is not rigid enough. Always use a lining or fabric reinforcement between the snap and your work to distribute pressure and protect the stitches.
Does magnetic strength weaken over time?
All magnets lose a small amount of strength over time. That is why Tessiland selects only snaps with high initial attraction force: starting with a powerful magnet ensures that even after years of use the closure remains effective. Avoid storing the snaps near other magnets or electronic devices.
