✨ TESSILAND STUDIOFrequently Asked Questions about Elastic Thread
How do I use elastic thread with a sewing machine?
Wind the elastic cucirino into the lower bobbin case without pulling it tight. Keep normal thread on the upper spool. Set tension low and sew as normal: gathers form automatically as soon as you remove the fabric from the machine. Always test on a scrap piece first.
What is the difference between elastic cucirino and flat elastic?
Elastic cucirino at 0.25 mm is thin, goes in the bobbin case, and creates gathers on light fabrics. Flat elastic is strong and wide, inserted in a casing or sewn at the edge: right for trouser waistbands, shorts backs and structured edges.
Can elastic thread be machine washed?
Yes, Tessiland's Made in Italy elastic cucirino and washable elastic hold up to machine washing on a delicate cycle (max 30°C). Avoid the tumble dryer and high temperatures, which can reduce elasticity over time.
