✨ TESSILAND STUDIOFrequently Asked Questions about Earring Hooks and Posts
What's the difference between ear wires and earring posts?
Ear wires are open hooks designed for dangle earrings with charms and beads. Earring posts instead have a fixed base with a butterfly back, ideal for stud earrings with flat elements like cabochons or charms.
Are Tessiland ear wires and posts suitable for sensitive skin?
Many models, such as the Ampolla, Elegance and Leaf ear wires or the posts with butterfly closure, are nickel-free or hypoallergenic: this detail is always indicated on the product page.
Can I open and close an open ear wire multiple times?
Yes, the open ear wire is designed to be closed multiple times, but handle it gently: too much or repeated pressure can weaken the metal over time.
How do I choose between the gold and silver finish?
It's an aesthetic choice, linked to the earring's style and the other elements (beads, charms, rhinestone chain) you want to match: both finishes are available on most models.
Do butterfly backs fit all earring posts?
Standard butterfly backs fit most posts and hoop ear wires with a through-hole; for models with a different hole diameter, check the size indicated on the product page.
Do I need other accessories besides ear wires and posts to make an earring?
It depends on the design: dangle earrings usually also need rings or hoops to attach charms and beads, while stud earrings often just need the post and butterfly back.
