Cord Stoppers for Bags
Quick overview: Sliding cord stoppers to lock cords and laces on bags, backpacks and handmade accessories. Two types: nylon (lightweight, for drawstrings and pouches) and spring-loaded metal (elegant finish, for bags and backpacks). Thread onto the cord and slide to tighten or loosen. To hide knots see knot covers. For buckles see the parent category.
A cord stopper is a sliding clamp that locks the cord in the position you want: thread it onto the cord (or two parallel cords) and slide it back and forth. Push one way to tighten; the other way to loosen. Used on drawstring openings on bags, pull-cord closures on backpacks and any handmade project where a cord needs to stay put but remain adjustable.

Frequently asked questions
How does a cord stopper work?
Thread the cord (or two parallel cords) through the holes in the stopper. To tighten: push the stopper down. To loosen: press the spring (spring-loaded models) or pull the stopper up. Nylon models work by friction — slide with a bit of force and they stay in place.
Nylon or metal stopper?
Nylon: lightweight, coloured, budget-friendly — for drawstrings, pouches and sportswear. Spring-loaded metal: more elegant and sturdy — for crochet bags, handmade backpacks and projects where the finish matters.
