How to Choose the Right Metal Strap
Choosing a metal strap comes down to three things: the bag type, the finish and the length. For evening clutches the compact-mesh Master is the most elegant. For everyday bags the classic Cleo balances style and strength. For those who want to customise, the open-link Grace can be woven with ribbon and cord in the same colour as the bag.
Finishes coordinate with every Tessiland component: if your bag has gold snap hooks, pick the gold strap. To keep the shine over time, clean only with a soft, dry cloth — never degreasers or chemicals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are metal straps heavy?
It depends on the model. The compact-mesh Master is the lightest, designed for clutches. The Cleo and Grace have a medium weight — comfortable on structured bags with a rigid base.
How do you attach a metal strap to the bag?
Every strap comes with side snap hooks: they clip onto the bag's rings or loops with one click. No sewing needed. To swap straps just unclip the hooks and clip on a different one.
How do you clean a metal strap?
Only with a soft, dry cloth. Never use degreasers, perfumes or chemicals: they damage the plating and cause tarnishing. Store the bag in a fabric pouch when not in use to protect it from moisture and scratches.
