Resin Bag Handles for Crochet Bags
Resin Bag Handles for Crochet Bags — Rigid, Colourful and Jewellery Styles
Resin bag handles — the most colourful and varied family in the Tessiland collection: marble, amber, opal, transparent and marbled effects. Two types: rigid arc handles (the crochet fabric wraps around) and jewellery chains with carabiners for pochettes and evening clutches. Over 40 models, from €2.90.
Two families of resin handles — how to choose
Rigid arc handles (Cardiff, Belfast, Chester, Handly, Pipoca, Atlanta…) — mounted by wrapping the crochet fabric around the handle on the last row of single crochets, exactly like metal handles. Resin is lighter and offers effects metal cannot: veined marble, warm amber, iridescent opal, crystal transparent. Each piece is slightly different — a characteristic of resin.
Jewellery chains with carabiners (Ethnic, Gala, Gemma, Marsiglia, Fioriloop…) — no sewing required: the carabiners clip onto the bag's loops or rings in a second. Suited to pochettes and evening clutches where the handle is also a decorative element. They can be swapped between bags.
Statement rigid handles — resin allows shapes impossible in other materials: the Pipoca handles (ball-shaped, "popcorn" style) and the large Atlanta and Dallas (for medium and large bags) are among the most sought-after for their original look. "Rigid bag handles" and "unusual bag handles" almost always point to this category.

How do you attach rigid resin handles to a crochet bag?
Arc handles are mounted on the last row of the bag: work a row of single crochets around the handle, passing the hook through the holes or directly around the handle's frame. The method is identical to metal handles. No glue or sewing needed: the stitch itself securely fixes the handle to the bag body.
Is resin durable? Does it break easily?
Tessiland resin handles are made from high-density acrylic — light but resistant to everyday use. They won't break under normal bag weight. They are more delicate than metal if dropped hard, but for normal use (everyday bags, shoppers, pochettes) they hold up perfectly over time.
What's the difference between resin and plastic handles?
"Plastic" is commonly used to mean all polymers, resin included. The handles here are made from acrylic resin or acetate — materials that allow refined visual effects like veined marble, semi-transparent amber and iridescent opal. This is not the opaque plastic of the 1980s: the look is much closer to a high-end fashion accessory.
Are Pipoca handles different from other rigid handles?
Yes — Pipoca handles have a ball shape (hence the "popcorn" name) instead of a smooth arc profile. Mounting is identical: wrap the fabric around. The rounded shape makes them particularly suited to bags with a softer, more original look. Available in Small Pipoca (compact) and standard Pipoca, in marbled resin.
