✨ TESSILAND STUDIOFrequently Asked Questions about Sewing Thread
What is the best sewing thread for a sewing machine?
For machine sewing, Gutermann Cucitutto 100% polyester is the professional choice: it holds bobbin case tension, doesn't shrink in the wash, and produces uniform stitches on any fabric. Available in over 200 colors on 100mt spools.
What is the difference between polyester and viscose sewing thread?
Polyester is strong, slightly elastic, and suitable for all fabrics — the right choice for structural seams. Viscose is shiny and soft, used for decorative topstitching and machine embroidery on precious fabrics. It is not suitable for load-bearing seams.
How do I match thread color to fabric?
Choose a thread as close as possible to the fabric color. If in doubt, go slightly darker: it tends to be less visible. For internal seams that won't show, a neutral (white, ecru, grey) always works.
